My cousin Zach earned his Eagle Scout award. So I made this cake for his court of honor. Way to go Zach!! That is a lot of hard work, time and effort!

CTR Baptism Cake
Scott's cousins, Chuck and Nicole had their 3 children choose to be baptized together! They asked us to make a cake...I made it WAY too small. They had a great turn out, over 60 people. Congrats Harley, Rylie and Drake!!!

Jeff's Dentist cake
My second oldest brother, Jeff, just graduated from Dental School!!! Way to go!! He asked if I would make a cake for their graduation party. I was excited to do it but very nervous at the same time. I knew I wouldn't have a lot of time while out there to do the cake, so I was able to make all these pieces before going out and just made the cake part there. The next challenge was getting them there in one piece. Well, thanks to my parents they arrives safe and sound.
Those of you that are familiar with the dental world might appreciate all the little things more than the average joe. Scott kept making fun of me because I just kept making one more thing...then one more. He came into the kitchen one time and said "you are having way too much fun with this cake." And I was. The top picture is what I work with daily, a mirror, explorer, gauze, suction and the drill. The next picture is a lovely detail I quite enjoyed, the riostat, makes the drill go!
I decided to make the tooth the patient. He has a big cavity...be sure to brush and floss after eating...cake :)
Ok, I have to take a second to brag about myself... I normally don't...but would you LOOK AT THAT FACE!!! He is by far the best looking face I have ever made! He does look like he is a wearing cut off scrub shirt, but his face is gorgeous!!!
Congrats to Dr. Jeffery Poulson!!!
The picture above was a personal touch, that I was glad Jeff caught. I went out the end of March to assist Jeff with his boards test (he has to pass to get his dental license. Kind of a big deal with lots of pressure). So for his boards he did 2 fillings, one on tooth #14 an MO and one on #9 MLF. So this might not make any sense to you, but it means something to the two of us :)
This touch I thought was quite fitting of Jeff's personality. He loves to build thing and work with tools, so I decided instead of a normal little dental drill, it would be more fun to have a big drill!!! Don't get any ideas though Jeff, I don't recommend using this in your practice!! :)
All in all it was probably the most fun cake I have made, my life's work has led up to this one.
Congrats again to Jeff and his family for making it through dental school together!!

Pink, Pink, Pink Princess Cake
This cake was right up my alley!!! I loved making it!!! My Aunt Dawna ordered a cake for her YW New Beginnings Program. It was all about being a Princess. They talked about the scripture princess, fairy tale princess and how each of the girls are a princess. They based it off a talk by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf. So we came up with the idea of using the book to represent the places they would read about these princesses.
These beautiful shoes are made out of gumpaste, totally edible. I don't know who would want to each such adorable things, but if you want to you could.
The name of President Uchtdorf's talk was Happily Ever After
AH!!! Check out the cute Tiara!!! I have wanted to make this since the beginning, so a few years now and I finally got the chance...and wow was it nerve racking! It is made out of royal icing, piped out onto a pop bottle to get the shape and it was very very fragile!! I was happy to finally see it on top of the cake in one piece!
All the jewels on the mirror are made out of poured sugar = edible!
CUTE!!!
This was our first attempt at the pillow cake, and I loved it! I spent majority of my time making the pillow part of the cake. I have recently been obsessed with ruffles, so I was having a great time making the ruffly goodness around the pillow.
This was so much fun making, and even more fun to deliver. Just imagine a room full of teenage girls all excited about something you've spent many hours creating. such a satisfying feeling!!
Thanks for the opportunity to make this cake Aunt Dawna!!

Provo Temple Cake
This was a fun cake to make. I'm just glad it was the Provo Temple and not Salt Lake Temple. The bottom tier of the cake is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting filling. The second tier is a strawberry cheesecake cake. The top tier is a german chocolate cake with coconut pecan icing filling. The spire, Angel Moroni and the slats on the third tier are made of Rice Crispie Treats and covered with fondant.
The Angel Moroni and the lettering on the Temple were painted with an edible gold paint.
