Alex's 1 yr Doggie

 Can't believe my nephew, Alex, is already 1!!!  He absolutely loves dogs, so for his smash cake Brittany asked me to make a doggie.  She thought that might make him want to dig in and tackle it.

 well....he didn't really want to dig in.  He had a few bites and then he was more interested in going to grandma poulson (which is usually the case) than he was in eating the cake.  oh well, it was fun anyway.

Jim's youth

 Scott's long term friend Jimmy celebrated his 30th birthday just a few days before Scott, so naturally he wanted to rub that in.  Scott did this cake (all except the rose and silver writing).  yup, he baked it, stacked it and covered it.  Great job Scott!!!

I have to admit, I was a little wary doing this one at first, but I think it was a big hit at his party.  Happy Birthday Jimmy!!

Rapunzel's Tangled Tower

Here is the Tangled cake we made for Scott's niece Taiya.  She turned 4!!!  Time flies so fast. This was a fun cake just because of her reaction.  First thing she asked was "where is Rapunzel?"  I told her she was inside the tower.  Then she asked "where is Flynn Rider?"  I was relieved when she accepted my answer "He is inside the tower too.  Remember when she ties him up and stuffs him in the closet?"  So cute!!  She just kept saying "I need to see my cake just one more time."

I have to admit, I didn't like to see this one get cut up.  Sad face.  But i was delicious and fun to see the reaction of Taiya!  Happy Birthday!

40th Birthday Cake

My friend, Kim, was throwing a surprise 40th birthday party for her husband so she asked me to make this cake for her.  He enjoys a lot of things and she wanted to get a lot on the cake.  His main interests are golfing, basketball, hunting and fishing.

 Here is the basketball player, we thought at 40 he might be a little winded.

 The fisherman was a little surprised to be catching 40!!

 ok, so this one turned out interesting.  I tried to make a deer with antlers in the shape of 40.....

Base cake flavor was German Chocolate with coconut pecan filling.  The top cake was chocolate cake with peanut butter filling.  Covered with fondant.  Decorations are fondant/gumpaste.
