Rubber Duckie, You're the One!

This is probably my favorite birthday cake i've done yet. It was made for my brother in law's nephew who passed away. I think it's great they still celebrate. The slats that make the barrel are cookies, the water is cream cheese frosting.
The ribbon around the barrel is the only non edible item.
The sign is made out of gum paste. The blue flowers and the white bubbles are made of royal icing.

Phineus and Ferb

My husband just had a birthday!! I decided since he LOVES Phineus and Ferb that i would make him a birthday cake with them. For those of you who aren't as familiar with the show, it's about two boys who do crazy things each day of their summer vacation.
The cake is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting used for the filling and decorating. The tree is made out of rice crispie treats and covered with frosting. The characters are made out of gum paste.
The day always starts out under the tree in their backyard.
Phineus is the dreamer...he always comes up with the idea and says "Ferb, I know what we are going to do today!"

This is Ferb. He doesn't say much.

And this is Perry, their pet platapus. I don't know how to spell that. Anyway, he is an undercover agent that fights the Evil Doofensmirtz. Good stuff!
Happy Birthday Scott! Love you!

It was hard because i don't really know her and what her personality is like so i just used what i knew and she loved it! Both tiers are a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting filling. The cake is covered with fondant. The polka dots are cut out of fondant as well as the yellow ribbon and bow around the base of each cake.
The bottom tier is a triangle shape cake and the top tier is a round cake.

Her name, Angorie, was cut out of gumpaste.

Brittany and Jeffrey's wedding cake

My baby sister got married!!! They had a theme of stars for their wedding. The color was blue...all shades of blue with silver accents. Scott and I decided it would be fun to keep the design of the cake a surprise. Jeff and Britt didn't get to see their cake until right before the reception. They loved it! It was fun that they trusted our opinion enough to not even see it before hand. Thanks for the fun guys and congrats! The bottom tier is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting filling. The second tier is german chocolate cake with coconut pecan icing filling. The three stars in the middle are styrofoam. The top tier is lemon cake with lemon pie filling.
Each of the three stars had something different written on it. The front of the cake the star read "Brittany and Jeffrey"
The other two read "Always and Forever" and "Manti Temple 07-11-09
We had a lot of fun making this cake for Brittany and Jeffrey. This has been the most challenging cake we have done because of the upright stars, but it turned out amazing.

Cinderella Barbie Cake

Our niece Shaylee turned 5 and wanted a blue barbie cake. The skirt is strawberry cake with strawberry jam filling and the doll is a real barbie. So this is not only a cake but a gift for the birthday girl as well. The skirt is covered with fondant and the flowers are fondant as well. This is one of my favorite cakes! I had a hard time giving this one away, but I think she liked it more than me. It was fun to see her face!
